@ehunter2 I completely disagree with that. I'm at Cornell studying Electrical Engineering, and I've taken courses in writing, sociology, economics, and media communications to supplement my engineering work. I often engage in philosophical debate, and I rarely play video games.

i already configured my BIOS settings and i was un aware that i needed to make the Cd Rom drive the 1st drive to boot. im trying to go back into my bios now to change it but it wont let me make the changes, the selection is greyed out. any reason as to why its like this?

if im only using 1 HDD (500gb) is it necessary to partition a section for the OS or can i leave it as one partition?

Hi, I checked the 'raid' in the bios where ist said sata mode. but when I reboot it does not ask me to press ctrl+I (or any other combination)??

@geunsjl You may need to look in your motherboard manual to identify how to get to the RAID configuration.

for sound cards, do i need to boot the computer first without the card being connected? i know this is the norm for GPU's. first time builder.

@ataoldotcom no, and you dont need to do that with GPUs either.
