fantastic playlist!

Great, Keppard was only a name to me.
-
otjf Yes,I knew that already but it is,nevertheless, regrettable for on some of his recording he,in my opinion, did not give of his best-which was extraordinary,as we all know.
-
@Squarerig Keppard was asked to make the VERY FIRST Jazz recording (before the ODJB) and he refused because he was afraid he could be copied....
-
Regrettably Keppard made so few recordings.Nevertheless those he did make display his superb mastery of his instrument.A delightful contribution.

King Keppard - how good is this!!
The KIngs Of Jazz are all hereon this website - Bunk Johnson, Buddy Bolden, Freddie Keppard, Joe Oliver and the best of them all - Louis Armstrong!
And let the debate begin - was Armstrong the greatest of all? I thinkj so, but what do you folks think?
This is a really great jazz track!!

The third tune is called Brown sugar.

Splendid! Three tunes here - does anyone know the titles? The 3rd one is very fine and harmonically interesting. Keppard's tone is fiery and fruity - I love it. Thanks for posting!

Yep, King Keppard..my all time favourite !!
One know's he was excellent, you can tell by how many writers have maligned him over the decades.
I don't think there is a living Brass player who has such mastery of all registers on the Cornet, especially the low. What ferocity!!.
And what a supreme tone he has. I know he was raved about for his musical contributions to the international harvester Dance in 1930,
might be some pic's in the company yearbook.
