Great video! i love your other baitcasting video as well really helped me with mine!

With wiffle spool you dont need a mono backing or a electrical tape backing ? thanks

@HKPSG1Shooter I always just spool mine up with pure braid. I dont like having a weakspot in my line (knot to tie braid to mono). This is just my preference, and none of my reels have ever needed more than 150 yards, including my large musky reels

The other reason for using monofilament backing on smooth spools is to partially fill the spool, the reason being because braided line like power pro is much smaller in diameter (20 lb power pro is equivalent of 6 lb mono) Due to this, it would take several hundred yards of braided line to fill a conventional spool.
I generally put about 75-100 yards of 15 lb mono on my reel, then put on a 125 yard spool of 20 lb power pro. Then I use a 2 ft leader made of 20 lb fluorocarbon.

@SuttonOutdoors if you are using a lure or a spinner i wouldn't worry about it, i actually tied a barrel swivel to my braid with an improved clinch then put a drop of super glue on the knot that way i can just snap different lures and spinners to my mainline. seems to work pretty well for me i have landed numerous steelhead without knot failure

Should i use a leader at the end of my braided line?

does the braid line rotates around your spool or not ?
great video

Thanks for the vid.... you can also use electrical tape or something similar on the smooth spools to give the braid something to dig into
