On March 30, 2010, Titan suffered an intestinal rupture as a result of the prednisone he was taking to alleviate the pressure from a bulging disc. Though rushed to one of the best veterinary hospitals in the state, there was nothing we could do to save him. The extraordinarily loving and kind staff at Veterinary Specialty Hospital kept him comfortable as many of those who loved him rushed to be by his side. In the end, he passed peacefully in my arms, surrounded by light and love.

Please visit titanandfriends.com to learn more about this deaf and blind pup who touched everyone he met with his gentle soul, unflappable spirit and unconditional love... not to mention his Great Dane lean and infamous lap dances.

TITAN. World's Tallest Dog for a Minute. Best Friend for a Lifetime. In my Heart Forever.

Safe journeys sweet boy.

Thanks Shannon. Not a day goes by when someone doesn't stop me and remember Titan. I miss him everyday. He wasn't just special-needs. He was special... an angel.

  • <3 Rest in Peace Titan, i teared up after reading the Description ! i have a dog and even if i imagine this with my dog, i burst into tears. I can't even imagine your pain .. R.I.P Titan

Thanks for your comment. Titan's passing was and continues to be a shock to me and my Pack. Prednisone can be a wonder drug... but also has devastating side effects if not administered properly. But like he did in life, even in his passing he continues to help and inspire others, whether that's folks taking precautions with this drug or the annual Titan the Great Dane Memorial Benefit for Shelter Pets, where we help a different local shelter every year. Enjoy every day with your pup!

  • Titan you will be greatly missed! Luv ya Bro... this is a wonderful tribute to you. My deepest sympathies to your family and loved ones!

  • Thanks Daisy. Despite my challenges, I lived life to the fullest and (hopefully) showed people what a joy it is to share your life with a deaf Dane. Mom says I was an angel sent to her and, not to toot my own horn, but I think she's right.
