Dave, Katie, and Ben from Keokuk, Iowa performing the song Cindy's Crying about 1990 ...... The original was written by Tom Paxton and covered by Deepwater Reunion. The Deepwater Reunion version was played on KAAY's "Beaker Street" pretty much nightly back in the late 60's and early 70's.....Enjoy!

  • This is great! I've been trying for years to find this song, all I could remember is the Beaker Street hook. I used to listen to KAAY all the time in Fargo ND many years ago. The other song I remember has "fare the well titanic fade away" which I would love to hear again. Any idea where a guy could download these?

  • Search for Legend of the USS Titanic here on You Tube....Someone named "toyboytwo" just posted it Nov 3rd....Good quality!

  • Thanks for the kind words Barbara...Your band's version of this song so many years ago inspired a number of people...thanks for all the comments everyone.

  • your welcome for the comments. you might pass on my address to mapw51 who asked for help in locating the original version. i'm not trying to hawk my wares, but they did ask for help.

  • This video was posted in memory of Katie who left us a few months back. She was a wonderful person with an amazing voice. She is missed.

  • It is Bleaker Street in the song. The late, lamented radio show, on which Cindy's Cryin' was often featured, was called Beaker Street.

  • I'm pretty sure it is "Bleaker Street", not Beaker

  • Very happy this wonderful version is here and so sorry about Katie no longer being with us. Beautiful tune which so reminds me of Beaker Street!!!

  • Tonight, I listened to the last program of Beaker Street as Clyde Clifford signed off of the Point, 94.1. I missed Barbara Raney's performance due to an inopportune telephone call, but wanted to hear the song again. Thanks again for keeping this great song on Youtube.

  • or should i say its on cd

  • i have the origional copy igot from a friend of mines record shop

  • Great to see this video and song still on Youtube. For those who remember Beaker Street on KAAY, and its later reincarnation on the Point 94.1, the new management of 94.1 has canceled Beaker Street, last show on Sunday February 6, 2011. Clyde Clifford has reportedly been talking to other stations, but at this point the only news is that Beaker Street ends in less than a month. No doubt Cindy's Cryin will be heard a few more times -- streaming on the web is almost as good as the old AM.

  • Wow....You guys just took me back 40 years. And what a GREAT JOB! I am sorry to read that Katie is gone, she did an amazing job singing this, it was perfect (and you guys were pretty good too :). I too used to listen to Beeker Street/Theater back in the day. You really touched me with this, Thanks so Much!!!!!

  • WOW! Who says time travel is impossible?? I just flew back 40 years! Cruising 9th street on Saturday nights in Trenton, Mo, trying to stay out of trouble til Beaker Theater comes on... THANKS, Well done!

  • @olsonsk Heh, discovered BS in fargo also, back in November of 1971.They were playing the hobbit for beaker theatre
