@evybeth92 The book says that Colonel Fitzwilliam was very much enjoying Mrs. Collinse's friend's company. (Not these exact words were used in the book but this is what it means). But Colonel Fitzwilliam never wanted to marry Lizzy because she had no money and an earl's second son could not afford to merry a poor woman at that time.

This was far superior to the later film version, Keira Knightley and all. The casting was perfection - notably Mr Collins, Mr Bennett, Lady Catherine and Elizabeth Bennett. Nice to see Dawn from The Office as well.

The casting of Lady Catherine is the one and only time an actor has outdone the same role played by the fabulous grande dame, Judy Dench. The actress playing the role of Elizabeth's mother outgunned the recent movie version as well. Overall, this series was far more true to Austin's immortal dialogue, and by doing so, created a superior result.
