  • So our landlord took the fan out and repaired it a bit, but man, it's still ridiculously loud. MAVEI is right, this fan doesn't belong in a bathroom.

  • I heard one sound similar

  • my grandmas old house from the 50's had one just like that, it was painted brown and didn't work, it used to scare me when i was younger, it would make an RRR sound when teh lights would come on :O

  • You sure thats not actually an electric weedwacker?lol

  • The fan is an old TradeWind fan from the mid-to-late 1950s.These were originally intended for kitchens.

They are very noisy and frightening. You can't hear yourself think.Time for a new one.

  • I think this may be one of the older NuTune bathroom exhaust fan if I'm not mistaken...

  • something is loose, bent out of shape or needs oil. First, try oiling the motor shaft, and if you see any bend in the shaft attempt to straighten it. The blades may be loose, cracked or the motor itself may be worn out, any of these would mean a new fan
