http://www.somalioz.com - This is the song that inspired K'naan's "Fire in Freetown", it's a classic Somali song that was recorded in the early 1980s, the artist is Fatima Mandeeq, im not too sure the meaning of "Sida Hogasha Robka" but to my understanding it means something like "halts the rain" or "like rain halts", my Somali isnt that good please correct me if im wrong.

  • It's amazing how similar Somali, Eritrean, Djiboutian, Ethiopian, and Sudanese instrumentals and melodies are. I always say we are brotherly people, but I am constantly surprised and astounded by the similarities. I love this song, as well as the song it inspired, Fire in Freetown by K'Naan.

    ~I love Somali music ILILILILILILILILILILILILILILILILIL!

    coming from an Eritrean :)

  • Beautiful. Blessings to my East African brothas and sistas~~~~

  • i came here after listening to k'naan's Fire in Freetown, which was great. but i have to wonder how many americans listen to k'naan or traditional somalian music. because this is great and nobody i know has ever heard of k;naan.

  • @Dabayare how can you ask anybody to be inteligent when its only you here talking qabiil. troll

  • @faysal64 Somalia is just one region. This song is sang by a woman whose parents were Isaaq and Ogaden, so she will not be considered part of "Somalia". Pls be intelligent and refer to Somali instead.

  • i loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee somalia with all my heart

  • Classic Mansha'Allah !!

  • Aah what bittersweet memories, so haunting, so melancholic this brigs rushing back. "Love is desire in breeze;eagles flying in skies;it envelops with hope from without;like tesmpest coming...all I see is your lightning'
