China classical drama films, the Jade Hairpin.
Li Xiuying, daughter of the minister of Personnel Affair, Li Yanpu, is betrothed to Wang Yulin, son of Hanlin scholar Wang Yu in Ming Dynasty. Xiuying's cousin Gu Wenyou also wanted to marry her. He proposed marriage to Xiuying but was refused. Then he colluded with the matchmaker. They stole Xiuying's jade hairpin and forged a love letter an inamorato wrote to her. In the bridal night, they put the two things in Xiuying and Yulin's bridal chamber. When Yulin discovers the letter and the jade hairpin, he is enraged and suspects Xiuying of infidelity. He treats her coldly from then on. However, Xiuying gives him the loving care of a good wife. Her father conducts an investigation in a bid to clear her name. When the truth is revealed, Yulin is struck with remorse. He comes to seek Xiuying's forgiveness with the phoenix coronet after he comes top in the imperial civil examination. The young couple is finally reconciled.
The Yue Opera Jade Hairpin was shot in 1962, starring the famous Yue Opera actress Jin Caifeng. It is regarded as a magnum opus of Jin Genre. It is also the only screen image left by the "Queen of Yue Opera" Yao Shuijuan who played Madame Li.

  • by this time in Chna, the people had separated completely from Nature. There is NOT one plant or tree planter in the house, Nature was only for farmers.. That In the early scene, the entire room looks bare and sterile.  The philosophy of Confucinism had taken root.
