By chance, in the small town of Pianopoli, Calabria,
I discovered the existence of one of my favorite restaurants. After having no choice but to stay in the only "hotel" this small town offers, I soon realized that Hotel 2000 (due mille) held a hidden jewel. That's right, hidden within its 'in desperate need for a makeover' walls lies one of the culinary world's best hidden secrets.

I would agree that is a great place to eat. My wife's great grandparents came from Pianopoli, so we visited the town. We loved La Tavernetta so much that we ate there three times. If you're in the area I'd also suggest Il Casale, about 10 mintues southwest of Pianopoli on the way to Nicastro (Lamezia Terme).
