Here's my fave boy winning in gutsy form. As a Kiwi I'm naturally biased towards those of us that take on the big boys next door and win, but a huge percentage of my childhood memories are made up of this horse, and re-enacting his wins running around the house!
Who else could run into the inside rail, race 5 wide with 4 furlongs remaining, take an age to wind up, get attacked either side and have a heart big enough to get himself over the line, first...almost as gutsy as Waverly Star's run in the Cox Plate - Thanks Bonecrusher..!!
i remember when he won the nz derby then frank ritchie brought him over, but it was a rubbish field except for dolcezza, drawn & handy proverb...the old burglar of bamf what a blast from the past, won an ipswich cup for me at good odds, from yippiyios family from memory..
