Only thing that really matters is the money these fatasses who can't even ride fill their pockets with! Unbelievable. Just Unbelievable. I'm not totally against racing, but I do wish the horses were treated better. RIP Barbaro. :( RIP Ruffian :( RIP Eight Belles :( I'm lucky to have my horse, Arrow, an ex-racer. He's my dream. And just think, not ALL horses are so lucky as Arrow! Eight Belles could have been a little girl's dream, too, but no, it's all about the money these days, isn't it? ugg!

This is such a cruel sport. It is ranked 3rd in the mos dangerous sports. All horses that are retired sometimes go to slaughter. The average life span of a race horse is only 5 to 7 years. This sport needs to stop now!

@AllanbelongswithCaro these horses are treated like royalty. Yes there are SOME that are treated badly but that number is miniscule. Barbaro, Eight Belles, Ruffian, ALL were freak accidents. Not abuse. Accidents like them really do rarely happen and breakdowns are a part of basically any other equine sport. Racing is just in a larger limelight so it is more criticized.
