@hkeddieme i'm from scotland right, but i'd say there is a connection with ireland giving the fact that four william mcbrides died in world war one. one from scotland, three from ireland, one north, two south. this song can't be taken away from them with it being one of very few thing's the north and south can mourn together on. after more than 300 years of bad blood between them, unity is the key for peace, and this song gives them that.

its really sad... that no matter what u call yourself, irish, german, scottish, american, british, no matter what, and no matter how smart we think we are.
