I think its not really a tournament that way because they should be aware of how to deal with the odd situation. When its just for fun, I agree items are the best.

Yeah, he really got screwed. Technically, this was the first Game & Watch fight of the three. He got screwed by items, so we turned them off and had the final two battles, which evened things out more.

Oh, that's good. But I can't say that its not a fair battle, because, well items ARE part of the game so =\.

Yeah, and I agree. That's why a lot of tournament people turn them off. They add too much of a random element that can sometimes upset someone who's really doing well. But when it's just for fun? Items are awesome.
