The book Hitler’s Pope also confirms he was Catholic, was an altar boy, wanted to be a priest, and quotes Hitler as saying his “great distress” was when he was unable to take communion. The tradition of celebrating Hitler’s birthday as a national holiday was initiated by Pope Pius XII. It was Pacelli who called for the Catholic dissidents (nuns & priests) to be taken to Concentration camps.
