We are both average height for man/woman. I am 5'8" she is about 5'5". Height differential is an a important factor in fighting that most be accounted for by adjusting the shield position higher or lower in its rest guard. There are specific techniques to be used by a shorter person against a taller one and vice-versa. Takes time to learn to use them effectively.

The rules prevent grappling, so the outcome is determined more by skillful use of the weapons. That is why there are not weight or gender divisions in the SCA.
