Great cover,its not easy playing James's stuff period,nice change of pace from all the crap from a bunch opinonated little S#^!$ who could'nt hold a note even w/handle,very well done. THANKS

@mikebrownonline looks like a mute to me which is bit of sponge or felt used to stop the string sustaining. It gives a really punchy sound just like James Jamerson's bass - he was the guy who played bass on a lot of the the old Motown tunes, he used a mute too.
