The Entertainment Software Rating Board - which assigns the age and content ratings displayed on all computer and video games - also offers "rating summaries," which provide a brief but detailed description of the content in a game that factored into its rating, including specific examples. Since this information isn't on a game's package, parents can look up rating summaries by using a free mobile app available for iPhone, Android and Windows Phone - the latest version of which even lets you search by simply saying the game title or snapping a photo of the game box. Using this app gives parents easy access to the information they need right from the store, where they often need it most.
