I played this one on the SNES originally and really liked the unique atmosphere with great music by Tallarico. Great humor too. I know some people prefer the SNES version and others the Genesis version. Since I like all the versions, I went with the neutral PC version. ;)

I'll always remember the Villi People stage in EJ2 with the strangely fitting Moonlight Sonata music playing, that stage was pretty hard as a kid.

@DaManoMano Different developers, vastly different gameplay styles, actually yes, you could easily argue that.

Hell, Nintendo took one (Donkey kong) and flat out changed it's name for this sake (Mario VS Donkey Kong).

True, MM1 is the precursor, so we can forgive it. :P

I was only saying that MM4-6 are more polished game than the 1st imo, but it's ok since it's the great-grandfather of MM games: it hasn't aged well, but you gotta respect your origins. ^__^

I never implied MM4-6 were better than 2-3 though... So yeah, you're pretty much right on this example.

And sorry, didn't see that last sentence on your original comment. Twice, it seems... :\
