@SpinCycleSubmission This is true. Religion is a subject all Irish citizens must be taught for all of primary school and the first 3 years of secondary school. Which is a total of 12 years. On top of that in the 4th and 8th year of primary school a lot of time that can be used for educating is spent preparing students for the cerimonies of our 'first communion' and 'confirmation'. It's ridiculous.

You should watch a video called "Leave those kids alone" by notinmyname2050. I will leave a link.
Basically, this dude is pissed that there aren't any schools in Ireland that are not run by the church, so 90 percent of all school children are being indoctrinated into christianity by laws that state that your child must attend school.
Just the sort of thing Santorum wants to do here.
