i have been playing arround seriously with my brother we hit each ogher with loose fists.. and it is obvous why people wwould choose aikido to be stupid in such a fast combat where strikes saldomly go into the center of the other person in such a fasion that a sword strike would..
The art of fighting and battle wich is called budo is complex one cannot redeem something effective nor uneffective based on impression, there has to be a reason why these martial arts have existed and survived.

I agree with you. I have been reading comments about many aikido videos posted on YouTube. The number of comments disrespecting many excellent shihan is discouraging. Most comments show an extreme narrowmindedness, and also a disturbing propensity to think that if a martial arts, eg aikido, isn't rough and violent then it isn't a good martial art. You may or may not like the interpretation of a shihan, but it is important to recognize that these people have given their lives to the art.
