@acenace24 There actually is a reason for asking how many people are on board and is a fairly standard question for an aircraft in distress. That info is used to help response personnel and rescuers have an idea as to what to expect in terms of size and scope of victims and potential survivors and so that they can be prepared for an appropriate number of potential injuries if the aircraft survives a crash enough for there to be survivors.
