with roto you get steady precise areas. These have the tell tale signs of gradiented footage and random noise. Cmon bro its an image sequence exported and filtered in photoshop.
-
its not roto hehe. But was done ok with photoshop filters Yeah?

Cool film, if you get a chance take a look at my film I used a similar style in on here. It's called Pumpkin Knight.

Using Shadow Outlines in the Outlines Only filter in the ToonIt! plugin for After Effects and Final Cut Pro I'm releasing this month with Digital Anarchy should automate some of this. Though these results are really clean, and I respect the amount of work you obviously put into it.

i've done something similar myself so I know how long this must have taken. looks great. reminds me a lot of sin city. well done!

Used Adobe After Effects 6.5, Illustrator CS2, and Photoshop CS2.

Hey, I have been looking to do achieve this effect in video for some time now. I have managed to do it for stills in photoshop, but its difficult to find the equivalent filters and such in After Effects. How were you able to do this?
