A C17 fuselage, used for engineering tests at Boeing's Long Beach, CA plant is sent down city streets to Seal Beach, CA...to be transported by ship to the East Coast (via the Panana Canal) for military training purposes. Full story at: http://www.lbreport.com/news/jul09/c17fuse2.htm
you could have a party in the cargo bay if you closed the openings without them noticing :D

@evans47243 That line isnt going to shutdown anytime soon. The US will likely buy more later on and India is wanting 10 asap. There is a long laundry list of other countries interested.

SWEET! I use to work there on the center wing (locating zero bulkhead and milling pylon stubs). Very cool to see the C-17 but sad it will be gone before long.

LOL. Brutal NASCAR styled decaling the C-17 with BRAGG HEAVY TRANSPORT to let everyone know who to call when your cargo aircraft breaks down on the side of the interstate! j/k But seriously, that looks like a very long and tedius job to complete. And I know that there were time limitations given too.

That must be the longest 8 mile trip ever. I would hate to be the truck driver.
