The Exiles Live @ the o2 Academy, Bristol

This is The Exiles own cover version of the ever popular Chemical Brothers tune Block Rocking Beats - The Exiles are an Electro-indie-rock band with a baggy-swagger. A band of dancers creating guitar-dance tunes full of energy, originality and passion.

Glastonbury born - but now Bristol based. We consist of 3 brothers and 2 mates. Each and every one of our songs blends an eclectic taste in electro, dance, rock, blues, indie, world, hip hop and experimental randomness. We believe in a unique sound and a performance that stands out from the usual. Exciting, passionate, originality, interesting, intricate, driving, dance, fun, loose, emphatic, lasting, tight, enjoyment, belief, desire, ambition. At home with friends in London, Glastonbury and Bristol. We have an ambition to build on the big base we have in all of these locations. Indeed big ambitions, big effort, big 2009.
Nominations for Best Supporting Role... The Cribs aftershow party. Bloc Party (DJ). Mani (DJ). Daddy G. Bonehead. Tiny Dancers.
Nominations for Best Location... Bristol Academy. Bull & Gate. Water Rats. The Roadhouse. Halfmoon. Mr Wolfs. BBC Introducing. NME. Solfest. The Cooler. Brixton Jamm.

Although unsigned we all moved to Bristol to be closer to gigs, and to dedicate our full attention to the music. Since then we have played at the Glastonbury Festival, appeared on the BBC, NME, Loud and Quiet Magazine, and have played support slots for some great acts such as Daddy G [Massive Attack], with the Cribs / Bloc Party / Mani [all DJ Sets], Tiny Dancers, Jim Noir, Jackobinarina, Bonehead (Oasis) etc to large crowds at great venues in cities across the country.

Our efforts are now paying off as we have got ourselves gigs at Bristol Carling Academy, Water Rats, Bull & Gate, Halfmoon, Mr Wolfs, Dry Bar - well established venues in Bristol, London and Manchester.

Influences,
The Stone Roses, Stooges, Velvet Underground, Neil Young, Daft Punk, Bob Dylan, Chemical Brothers, The Strokes, The Clash, Massive Attack, Oasis, Rolling Stones, Kings Of leon, Pink Floyd, The Who, Elbow, UNKLE and many more.
