Herb Robinson talks about health care. The Affordable Care Act is considered. Newton Mayor Setti Warren believes health care is a right, not a privilege, in this country. Warren proposes saving money by having Medicare import drugs from Canada.
I heard him here in Worcester (Coral Seafood). I agree with him when he affirmed that health care is a right, not to be regarded as only a privilege in our country. Setti Warren warned us that our Affordable Care Attack is under attack. (We have yet to see if our US Supreme Court upholds it.) Setti Warren really thought of ways to have our Medicare program save us money, perhaps similar to what Medicaid already may be doing, by negotiating for drug prices. Like other Democrat public servants, Setti Warren believes that it should be the outcomes of our health as patients, rather than the mere number of medical procedures we undergo, that determines the value of our health care.
Marisa DeFranco supports single-payer health care. DeFranco says, "When you're a leader, you don't negotiate from the middle... You start high to end up where you want to be... Mandates is a Republican idea. All it does is give the insurance industry thirty-five million new customers to pad their salaries... Single-payer is the way that we have to go... Single-payer must be the way today to start the fight." Massie says, "I was in favor of single-payer." Robert K. Massie IV has been the first declared United States senate candidate from Massachusetts.
