The Myth of the American Sleepover hits theaters on July 22nd, 2011.
Cast: Jade Ramsey, Amy Seimetz, Nikita Ramsey, Amanda Bauer, Jean Louise O'Sullivan, Claire Sloma
An official selection of Cannes Critics Week and winner of the Special Jury Prize at SXSW, THE MYTH OF THE AMERICAN SLEEPOVER is a youthful and tender coming-of-age drama from first-time writer/director David Robert Mitchell. In the tradition of free-wheeling tributes to adolescence like DAZED & CONFUSED, the film follows four young people (a cast of brilliant young newcomers in their feature film debuts) on the last night of summer - their final night of freedom before the new school year starts. The teenagers cross paths as they explore the suburban wonderland they inhabit in search of love and adventure - chasing first kisses, elusive crushes, popularity and parties - and discover the quiet moments that will later resonate as the best in their youth.

@Dramactica This IS A MOVIE. It was shot on video. All of the Harry Potter films and The Dark Knight were shot on film. They ARE FILMS. Does that mean this movie isn't good? Not at all. It's terrific. Does that mean The Dark Knight isn't good? Not at all. It's also terrific. Like many people have pointed out to you though, trying to compare it to The Dark Knight or Harry Potter is stupid. The same way your comment "I know about film than your ass" makes me think you are stupid.

what's up with all the dark knight and harry potter hatred? those movies are totally different from this one and it would be a stretch, to say the least, to compare them. opinions are subjective, so it's a waste of time to try and convince someone of how "shitty" one movie is, whether it be a blockbuster hit or and indie movie.
