The Army Learning Concept 2015 (ALC 2015) is an important component of TRADOC's ongoing Campaign of Learning and will describe the learning environment we envision on 2015.

  • What happens when the gadgets go down? Hadji on the ground learns by doing and by hands on in the field. I am sure that insurgents are also using technology but I am personally weary of being over dependent on it. The electronic toys are fine when they are working but what do you do when they go down? I agree with soldierstan1, lots of distance learning but little one on one.

  • I am excited to finally see things being tracked on an application. Hopefully they'll implement a biometric system for increased security and get rid of some outdated programs (iPerms, AKO, etc) that are outdated and is too much of a hassle to use. If I had AKO as an application (with maybe a PIN+finger scan instead of what it is now), I'd be using it far more often than I do now.

    Go Army.

  • Interesting...it's a visually compelling, visionalry-thinking video. But I admit to needing to watch it a couple of extra times to get the larger messages about "just in time" and "social learning" and get past the gee-whiz techno future thing. Part of what I take from it is that the Army wants to develop mobile learning that's not just eLearning on an iPhone. Which is great, but won't true integration take more than TRADOC's commitment to the vision? I hope 2015 really looks like this.

  • SERVICE GUARANTEES CITIZENSHIP

  • Great comment from soldierstan 1. The ALC 2015 is learner-centric and not as techno dependant as the video might indicate. ALC 2015 looks to tech as one of many enabler to meet the needs of the learner at the time and place of need. In the school house the ALC 2015 relies on the one on one and group interaction with a facilitator (who has a variety of enablers and skills) to meet learning objectives.

  • Lots of distance learning little one on one learning
