The New ZCSLT

ZCSLT is a Chicago to Lathrop Z train that's a regular on Donner Pass, What's new is that before the tunnel clearance work to allow double stacks, ZCSLT carried single stack containers and piggybacks in well cars. Now it looks like just another Z-train, double stacks and piggys on spine cars. I caught it while waiting for what would become the California Zephyr depart Reno.

I posted a video titled "Canadian Zephyr in Reno?" more than 3 weeks ago. That's the same train, but BEFORE the Canadian Pacific AC4400 was attached. I chased both trains on the same day.

I saw 8604 pick up that dirty GE unit, one of the designated Donner Helper C44AC's, at Sparks. Seems Z trains like the spare power to minimize chances of delays.

Ah "The Chicken" I caught him on 11/15/09 and he had JB Hunt and others on there and they were stacked up. I thought it was unusual.

Seems like lots of big cities are using trenches to keep trains off their streets and less crossings. Donner is such a nice place to view trains

All-right, I just saw your other vid., now I gotcha. I couldn't see how you got the Can.Z out of Amt5! Refering to the other vid, why did the UP put a dirty CP unit on Amtrak?
