This video is a tribute to all of the R42 trains that ran on the M line in the New York City Subway

They were replaced by R160A sets as of 2008. There are no more R42s on the M line. RIP.

  • at 1:57 the M was part of the 8th ave line y is it blue????

  • The (M) was never part of the 8th Avenue Line, that was the routes color in the 1970's

  • To bad that the R42 will not run on the M line. So long R42 (M). By the way I like that song. What is the name of the song?

  • Ti Amo

  • I remember when these cars were on the D line

  • When you say R42 on the M, I only say this

    Memories

The M line is my main line

First I got glad that the R160s came, but then I got sad that the R42's left...

  • i wish all these older cars could come back im getting kind of sick of r160 for some reason

  • I have read on the Yahoo search engine that the MTA is going to phase in these turnstiles called "EZ Pass for Transit". I hear it works like how you pay the tolls with an EZ Pass tag on some New York City bridges and tunnels only the EZ Pass technology is in the NYC subway and on MTA buses. I heard that this will be phased in by the New York City MTA over the next 3 or 4 years. Has anyone heard any more about this?

  • I love all of the new high tech subway trains with those electronic FIND signs. I saw maybe 2 or 3 when I went down to New York to visit with a lady friend of mine in South Bayside, Queens. Those are awesome! They really are. Those are "da bomb!"

  • @sammydenyc Same goes for me with the L as well. And 3 years later, the Brown M is gone

  • This video brings good memories back when i lived in Ridgewood, Queens, i loved watching the M trains come from afar on fresh pond road when i was a little kid. :(

  • guys the R42's are still on the J & Z. theres like 50 still in service.

  • @bocard80 yea ever since the v left smh

  • m trains are orange now and route has been changed

  • Awesome video, and awesome music!!

(is this by A. Chelentano?.. or Toto Kutunio?)
