I used suspended chords quite a bit when I played full time during the '60s; they were fairly common in folk rock (listen to Roger McGuinn's 12-string, for example) but, as another poster said, I learned something from this video. I never did much along these lines with the G chord and I like what Peter does here. I plan to sit down and practice some movements. I'm 66 now and play mostly for family and church gatherings, but still like to improve my playing when I can.
thanks a lot for your lessons! I am learing guitar since 4 months now, 2hrs a day, still not able to make the D, C and G chords working. I am always muting strings I don't want to on my acoustic, especially when playing Dsus2. Quite frustrating experience, hope I'll get this right someday.
panggruff.... learning your open chords is hard at first. But if you know the common shapes of the chord and which fingers pivots and which ones don't, which chord shapes are the same, just moved. Then it'll be a lot easier. You can search this on youtube. It'll help you out big time!
good video but i think that you are wrong for telling people not to learn the chord names and to not analyze it because thats limiting yourself and that can be discouraging to a beginner
