Harry Leader and his Band.(UK)."Lets fall in Love" 1934

l have a few 78s of his and two CD's,yet is was hard finding anything out of the ordinary to upload.In the end settled for this pleasant tune with a duet vocal.Leader has the classic storyline of ..Russian Jew moved to London's East End turn of the century.Family started a grocery store and Harry was taught violin after school.
Whilst playing in Sid Philips Band on tour in Italy,Sid had to return to England and gave Harry the job of leading and finishing the tour.
This gave Harry a taste for leading and forming his own band.He set up a recording date which must have been successful as he went on to make 100s of records for a variety of labels.He only secured a residency for his band in 1939,so he must been rather clever to make all those records without any prior fame or real pedigree.
l could find no pictures of his band and he remains semi-obscure today as his record are pleasant but not exceptional.His big hit was "little man you've had a busy day" which sold over 300,000 records.He even sold them personally on the streets of London,so he new about self promotion.
If anyone can fill me in any any more information about his activities and know of photos l will add on to this info section...
