Use a 'T' connector and a kitchen hose. Connect them to the incoming water for the toilet. That will give you a hose that you can use for squirting your children when they come into the room!

  • I got one of these when my baby started eating solids. Boy, did it make de-pooping those cloth diapers easier! Now, even though none of my four babies are in diapers anymore, I am still loving my sprayer. I had to replace it last year. Once you get used to having one, I can't imagine doing without. ♥ Everyone can use a good rinse now and then. LOL

  • @blairseybell I'm so glad to hear that! So yours is similar to mine! Wonderful! I really should keep a roll of paper towels in there beside it, then I'd use it more.

  • I had these toilet sprayers when I was working in Kuwait and vacationing in the Philippines. So recently, I tried making one at home.

The t-connection at the toilet is 3/8. I bought two different brands of kitchen sprayers (Lowes, Ace), and none of them fit. I think the kitchen sprayers are 5/16, but not sure, because they don't say on the packaging. But both are just a tad too small to fit on the male 3/8 behind the toilet. I couldn't find any 5/16 to 3/8 adapter. Do you have any advice?

  • @voteforpigeon I just went to the store a few times until I found one that fit both sizes to connect them. Home Depot is where I got mine. Glad you're making one!

  • Only problem with this DIY bidet is this, in alot of countries bidets are required to have a vacuum breaker, which your does not. A vacuum breaker is required because you are connecting that sprayer directly to the potable water system in your house (potable meaning it is connected to the same source as the drinking water) Well guess what, you could actually cause your drinking water to get fecal coliform into it, which is definitely a bad thing.

Thought I should point this out.

  • @adamclemas Are vacuum breakers available in hardware stores?

  • @adamclemas that it is not posible due to de positive pressure of the system, and what about the cloride efect? Nancy i love you, you are not a complicated woman kisses from mexico

  • @blairseybell So is a bidet. I am proud to use one, very anti-american, JK.

  • @adamclemas Real good point!

  • we just keep a flower watering pot on the toilet and will it with watter

  • i'm going to say this, if you suffer from a lot of yeast or bladder infections, it is usually as a result of tiny particles of fecal matter traveling around there, usually e coli. having a bidet would make expert cleaning (as nancy says) a considerable advantage.

  • @alice30045 alice i think you need some attention to your lack of tact. nancy rocks! i guess your bidet don't stink?

  • @NancyToday I keep a little basket full of baby washcloths on the back of the toilet. Then I can use them as needed and throw them in the laundry hamper which is also within reach of the potty. :-) Best idea I ever had...
