These songs are off of the "In Search of the Lost Chord" album. This is the third album by the Moody Blues, and was released in 1968.

"Departure"

Be it sight, sound, the smell, the touch.
There's something,
Inside that we need so much,
The sight of a touch, or the scent of a sound,
Or the strength of an arquebus deep in the ground.

The wonder of flowers, to be covered, and then to burst up,
Thru tarmack, to the sun again,

Or to fly to the sun without burning a wing,
To lie in the meadow and hear the grass sing,
To have all these things in our memories hoard,
And to use them,
To help us,
To find...

"Ride My See-Saw"

Ride, ride my see-saw,
Take this place
On this trip
Just for me.

Ride, take a free ride,
Take my place
Have my seat
It's for free.

I worked like a slave for years,
Sweat so hard just to end my fears.
Not to end my life a poor man,
But by now, I know I should have run.

Run, run my last race,
Take my place
Have this number
Of mine.

Run, run like a fire,
Don't you run in
In the lanes
Run for time.

Left school with a first class pass,
Started work but as second class.
School taught one and one is two.
But right now, that answer just ain't true.

Ah ah ah ah, ah ah ah ah, ah ah ah ah ah
Ah ah ah ah, ah ah ah ah, ah ah ah ah ah

My world is spinning around,
Everything is lost that I found.
People run, come ride with me,
Let's find another place that's free.

Ride, ride my see-saw,
Take this place
On this trip
Just for me.

Ride, take a free ride,
Take my place
Have my seat
It's for free.

Ride, my see-saw.
Ride, ride, ride, my see-saw.
Ride, my see-saw...

  • To all of those who wish to travel Space/Time -- to all of those who wish to set sail across the seas -- to all of the Captain Americas out there -- this tune is for you. Adventure, freedom, and imagination -- that's what this song is all about.

  • When I listen to this song, I'm reminded of Easy Rider (the riding scene after they pick up the hitch-hiker). It's all about real freedom! I love that Spanish guitar solo in this tune -- great music for watching the riding scenes in Easy Rider -- gypsies aboard choppers! This tune signifies the greatness of the music of the 1960s.

  • @nortonaavs Their music is too noble -- too resplendent -- to be in the Rock Hall. I'm from Cleveland, and I used to ask the same question.

  • John Lodge, I love you!

  • @nortonaavs WHAT?!!!!! That's a crime!!! I made the assumption that they were!

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever created.

  • Besides Nights in White Satin this has always been the Moodies best song to me.

  • great sound. low wow and flutter. salute to you colordream!

  • Love this song, and so true in our times now!You did a wonderful job with the quality of sound, and pictures!Thank you!

  • I've been looking for it for almost half a century! Even greater than I remembered it!
