Some of the key players on the Detroit Red Wings already appear to be in midseason form.

Todd Bertuzzi scored a highlight-reel goal in the shootout and Henrik Zetterberg followed with the decisive tally as the Red Wings claimed a 4-3 win over the rival Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday afternoon at Joe Louis Arena.

Zetterberg also scored in regulation for the Red Wings, while Valtteri Filppula and Nicklas Lidstrom had power-play goals. On a down note, Detroit lost rookie forward Jan Mursak for an unknown length of time due to a fractured left ankle.

Rookie forward Brandon Pirri helped the Blackhawks rally from a 3-1 deficit with a pair of goals and also scored in the shootout. Jimmy Hayes, another prospect trying to make the team, had their other goal.

Pirri scored on the Blackhawks' first attempt against Ty Conklin in the shootout, but Bertuzzi followed with a spectacular move in which he put the puck between his legs, passed it to himself and then beat Alexander Salak on a backhander.

  • one of the most underated guys because of the shit with moore, detroit knew what they were doing when they signed him

  • Bertuzzi very well :)

  • that was pretty nice

  • Big Bert is the NHL.... hands down one of the greats who never became great due to poor decisions.

  • legit

  • if anyone else would of scored this, they would of publicized the shit out if it, but because it's Bert it's sadly overlooked.

  • @dchockeygoali07 And you should have a life.

  • im not a bertuzzi fan at all... but he has some of the best hands in the nhl

  • @deathshado04 Goalie is Alexander Salak (#53), not Crawford (#50).
