For the past four years Susan Harbage Page has photographed the possessions left behind by immigrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border near Brownsville, Texas and Matamoros, Mexico. The photographs in Walking the Border are an intervention into the spaces and objects associated with the migration north across the Rio Grande and into the United States. Produced by Michelle May in association with UNC Global. Filmed by Ali Cengiz and Michelle May, edited by Michelle May.

  • Robert, Thank you so much for your comment. I felt that your piece was perfect for Susan's video. Thank you, too, for sharing your music for creative works!

  • Thank you for using my piece "Morning Dream", which piece itself features samples from the artist estudiomovel, in this film. Susan Harbage Page's photographs intervene in a place of geographic migration, and also speak of the temporal migration we all experience and the odd tangible evidence we leave behind. The sense I get is of a shared humanity--and perhaps this is the lesson for us all. Your film gives us an insightful look into this subject matter, and it's good viewing. best, robert
