If you could somehow magically make all guns disappear in an area, how long do you think it would be before a factory in a 3rd world country would be sending guns into that area? How long before a factory would be producing them locally in some abandoned warehouse? Criminals will have guns no matter the law. What is so hard to understand about this simple fact? Get a gun, keep it loaded & close, kill the worthless SOB who is a predator. Simple.

@walkingeagle069 Not sure I see what you mean. Of course there are other weapons but the whole point is they are not so easy or so deadly as a gun. You wanna kill someone with a knive you gotta get up real close and personal, look someone in the eye. I suspect that would make SOME ppl think twice. I would hope. so anyway.

@BEEMANCOD The average person even if they did have a gun would very quickly run out of ammo. Short of a huge stockade of firearms and ammo i doubt they will be that great a factor in survival that other weapons could not replace. Stuff like food, water and shelter would be far more immediate factors.

@panzerfish And while waiting for this mythical point of "taking no more shit" the US suffers 10 000 gun related homicides per year out of a total homicide rate of 16 000. While in the Uk there is a average of 600 murders total with only around 100 of them involving guns. The figures should speak for themselves and are much louder than any of the "what if " arguements which seem to make up most of the pro comments on this page.

@walkingeagle069 That is exactlly my point "when we have had enough"? So despite all those laws curtailing your freedoms (hehe i agreee bout the hyperbole :D) you have not had enough already? Sounds to me like its all just macho talk. Oh look another freedom has been taken away but you just wait and say "just one more then we will get mad....honest" So your defense against your government arguement does not hold weight. UK has as many freedoms as US despite having no guns
