I own an original copy of it, I love this movie, don't care who directed it, who made the soundtrack or what did the actors in the movie play before or after this one, it's just thrill to me:b

@DementedBCecil I agree. The graphics and CGI backgrounds were incredible (seeing that this movie was made by the Wachowski brothers), but as an avid fan of the original Speed Racer, I was also disappointed in this movie as there were too many variations from the original concept. Another live action adaptation of a cartoon that comes to mind is Inspector Gadget, again because the director tried to improve something that didn't mean improving.

As an avid fan of the original Speed Racer, I was disappointed in the way the Wachowshi brothers pulled this movie off. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't close to the show at all.

Even the old anime wasn't this ridiculously bright and seizure-inducing, nor did it have crazy stupid characters in gaudy and garish clothes and no character depth.

dude this movie was fucking mind blowing. i was blazed when i saw it but i loved every second of it. the final race was so epic.
