Keep in mine the amount of pressure guitar strings put on the neck. When adjusting the angle of a guitar neck sometimes you must make adjustments to stop fret buzz. Learn how you can easily do this in this free video clip.

  • Here are string tension figures for an electric bass. D'Addario Chrome Flats, .040 to .095 gauge. Tension in pounds:

    G = 37.6

    D = 45.2

    A = 36.4

    E = 35.2

    This totals 154.4 pounds. The tension for electric guitar strings typically run less than 20 lbs per string. Where in the hell is anyone coming up with 600 lbs?

  • Gus i have a problem , whenever I play on my B or high E strings they are REALLY hard to BEND , especially from 12 to 20 , lthey get muted and if i pushed more hard they get broken ( the strings i mean ) .. SO my question is , IS these 3 springs in the back of my guitar , HAS to do with anything of this ? and what happens if I removed one ?? and how ??

  • ROFL this guy is a joke

  • There must be some joke here about string tension I don't get. 600 lbs? 185 lbs? 180 lbs? You people are insane if you actually believe those figures. An electric guitar with a typical set of 9-42 strings on it has 85-90 lbs of string tension on it. With a 10-46 set you're talking a little over 100 lbs.

    600 lbs ??? Maybe.... if you have a guitar with 36 strings on it.

  • oh well yeah thats true but i mean like standard strings :-P

  • @PestVic nope, 600lbs with heavier gauges at A4 pitch.

  • im surprised! expert village redeemed itself he actually talked about the string pull tension and that he had to have all 6 strings to properly setup the fretwork haha

  • thats more like a bass. its about 185lbs/in2 for a guitar.

  • try 600 lbs pal
