Nice video. I have .308 but I am looking to buy .243, because I want less kick. How would you compare the kick of .243 to .308 and .223? I also had a saiga in .223, but I had to sell it.

The .243 had like no kick compared to a 308. But it does have kick just not very much. The 243 has more kick than a 223 and alot more power. The 243 is a 308 just necked down to 6mm. So you have all the powder capacity of the 308 but just shooting a lighter bullet.

I just got a superlight compact in .243. I am going to load 100 interlocks to about 2850.

I will use 4350... I`ve had a few others before . I remember a 25:06 ultra varmint I had.. It was a straight shooter.. sub moa at 100 meters. Put lot venison on our table.. The .243 is gonna be my canoe gun. It is iron sighted and this vid makes me wanna get things going and get sighted in. Deer drop to the shot, better with these small cal numbers that to my 7mm rem or 300wsm. 7mm08 is a great calibre

I think the 243 is one of the best deer calibers out there. You dont have to worry about going though. I recommend Barnes 85 gr copper bullets and reloader 15, very good load.

Guys at the range used to come over and ask what I was shooting. Mine shot a flame about two feet out of the end of the barrel. I loved that rifle. And....

@Igoman1984 .30-06 fires the same .308 cal bullet as a nato .308 (7.62x51mm) at 300 - 400 fps faster. .300 win mag uses the same .308 cal bullets about 500 - 600 fps faster. As does .300rum, .30-30win, .30-40krag, etc. They are all accurate rounds. The only reason the recoil would affect accuracy is if you are anticipating and flinching. Whatever you shoot, practice. After you become accustomed to the recoil, the faster cartridge (more kick) will be more effective and more accurate.

i have a 308 pump i use for deer but i mostly huunt from stands now insted of driving. and i also want to hunt varmint, so i want a good gun i can use in the stand and hunt varmint out to like 250 yard. i really like 22-250 but idk about shooting deer with it. i also dont reload my ammo and want something cheap.

I like watching videos of folks who know what they're doing. Too many videos of first timers. First timers should get practiced with the weapon before filming. Get all the actions down pat, then record for viewing.

I had one of those (wood stock) in .243 - Really fun to shoot. Shot a flame about a foot and a half out of the muzzle. I'm not sure if it was me or the scope but I never got a good group with it. I know one thing I had to work through was catching the hammer releasing out of my periphery. I really had to hold solid.

@ramtekguns Mine is a .243 h and r handi rifle and it flings them pretty far its actually pretty surprising

@Igoman1984 wait they use the same caliber bullets just 30-06 come heavier alot but they are like the same speed so i like .308 alot better
