@secretogolf Good discusion, I ment the shoulders are square to the ball at impact. The left hip would definetly be opening up I agree. The shoulders can be square to the ball with the left hip open. You know what would be a great subject to cover, I see alot of amateurs struggling with Arm Alignment.I know hands must lead the club head /flat left wrist/bent right ,but what is the right forearm doing throughout the swing ,particulary the downswing.Facing the target thoughout or rotating

@DeanoG1414 What's great about that question is that you understand what's happening to basically figure out the solution. I think if you follow your own advice you can solve that pushed/blocked shot you hit. Also a tip from me, keep the club traveling towards the intended target after impact, kind of like Adam Scott or Rory !!

I'm not sure if you still check these old videos for comments Dave, but just wondering if a lack of follow through with my hips could be what's causing me to push the ball?
Thanks,
Deano.

1 to 2000?? all in one sitting?
I love these hip guys.In his demo the hips are through or nearly square to the target and then the club comes through to impact. When he actually hits a ball at 2:27 he is facing the ball at impact, not a all what he showed on the demo without a ball to hit.I know you need hip turn but some guys are way over doing it.

@secretogolf Yeah solid point point, but its a drill to help players get the feeling of turning there hips. Most handicap players have very poor understanding of what actually needs to happen, but if they do this drill before they play or practice........withouit question there body will work more efficiently through the shot.
Better efficiency = less forced effort = more consistency (only my opinion anyway)

@iGolftv I believe hip turn is very important.Yet too many teachers are overstating it as the end all be all in a good swing. The way it is presented in most cases is that the hip turn is made and then some how the player is suppose to reach back and make contact with the ball.Students need to be made aware that hey hit with their shoulders square while turning the hips or they will just go back to swinging only with their arms.Any video I have stopped at impact has the player facing the ball.

@secretogolf I totally see the point you are making and have to agree with you. However to say that the hips are pointing directly at the ball at impact is incorrect, the left hip if done correctly is already starting to clear. I'm not into getting over focused on this point, it has to be fitted into a correct sequence of events if you are going to maximize the effectiveness of it.
i do strongly believe in though is doing smart drills, these will be the back bone of a consistent practice routine

@iGolftv To add some value to the chat, I found that I was so focused on other things in the golf swing that my impact was suffering because I did not pay attention to the POWER in the hips delivering the "blow". I also do medicine ball drills where I do a hip high backswing and toss the ball. This is a great video. I also found that the "over the top" move was "fixed" when I released the club with my hips it kept my shoulders on plane because I was pulling with my hips. Thanks for sharing.
