MOBILE, AL - A military family living in Mobile contacted News 5 for help. They say they were ripped off by a local car lot and want their money back. They're moving to Fort Hood, Texas next week and need every penny they can get. When the Army called Specialist Maurice O. with new orders to move to Texas, his family started packing. One of the loose ends they needed to tie up was with a car lot called Capital Auto Sales in Prichard.

They put 1000 dollars down on a used Lincoln Navigator but couldn't come up with the rest of the down payment before the re-assignment. They had only test-driven the car and hadn't even started filling out the paperwork says Mrs O.. "We just couldn't go through with the deal so we asked for our money back."

Thanks www.wkrg.com for this clip (Feb 13, 2009).

  • wow. i guess thats just about exactly what your dumb ass would get for thinking you could afford a luxury suv to begin with when you couldn't come up with $1000.00 for a down payment. But that was a great idea to call the news station and cry about americans treating you worse than the taliban when you bought something you couldn't afford the gas cap to. just gotta wonder whos the loser here, the reporter or you.

  • Idiots, stops begging for sympathy. We're out fighting while your cheating on your spouse and trying to buy SUV's..

  • Any blacks that join the US military are just plain DUMB!! Why fight for these useless @ssholes, let them fight their own battles.

  • Firstly it doesn't matter if that nigger is in the Military or not.

He made a deal with the dealer that HE couldn't hold up and then he bitches to the media.

    What a faggot.

  • 1:12. Lets put this child on camera to drum up some sympathy. Considering his financial situation he probably had no business buying a used Navigator.

  • Well, here is the thing, if you buy a car and agree to a contract its not the dealerships fault, but i could not understand very well in the video, did you take possession of the car? if not then yes you should get all your money, if you took it off the lot then no. I am going thru a issue myself with a lot on a vw beetle i bought and from the first 10min i bought it it ran hot, kept running hot and i told them and they said it was a sensor, unitl 2weeks after i bought it when it blew up on me.

  • Got me fired up now.

  • No cares about your 2 tours as an Ice cream cone maker. man up

  • I don't think they really understand the concept of a "down payment". See, you pay the dealership to hold the car for you and they agree not to sell it to anyone else. Then, if you come back and say "woopsie daisy, I can't afford it", you then have to compensate the dealership for holding the vehicle for you. Thus, the $500 penalty, or $250 in their case since they played the military sympathy card.
