  • I don't know that much about this, but I think your photos are great !!!

  • Cool Jose!, any camera can do wonderful shots, its just how you use the camera, but to do higher grade shots that's where you use a more advanced camera like an SLR, but hay! point and shoot pocket cameras now days can do that stuff! :) "Remember the best Technique, is how you use what camera you have to its full advantages" lol

  • so King Gilly, do you recommend this camera against Panasonic FZ35/38? I was planning to get the FZ35 but the 1080p of SX1 IS and it's ability to take still shots while taking video made me think. Can you help me decide?

  • Hi, the Panasonic FZ35/38 looks like they copied it from my Canon SX1 IS, i think over all id go for the SX1 IS, if the Panasonic FZ35/38 is a good deal cheaper then opt for that, it has got some stuff the SX1 dont have and a bit vise versa, as i think the SX1 is better quality built, i know there is a canon camera hack for some cameras like SX1 IS

  • Part 2 but i need the hack for my modle, it allows you to open the guts and change the setting like exposure times/ recording times and heaps aothers even a battery display "dum canon dident put one in mine" so if your going cheep, get the Panasonic FZ35/38, if you whant better quality get SX1 IS :mind you there are other better ones out there but its how much you wanna spend,,,.....

  • @KingGillyMan: The SX1 IS has an issue of being poor low light condition. Can you prove them wrong? Can send me an unedited still image in good and bad light condition? send it to timo_bongATyahooDOTcom?

  • Yes it has the noise problem not to bad, like alot of cameras of course you can compensate by useing a noise cleanner program, i use Topaz Adjust its great!, but if the Panasonic dont have the noise problem then sure, go for that one :) oh also you have to know how to use what camera you have, for me, i just use it how ever,, cheers :)

  • amazing! TFS

  • Very good.

  • @BogusBoy2121 The reason I didnt go with the SLR is weight 1st,a day out carrying this around, with the responsibilty of dropping it,getting it stolen etc,and the canon has nearly double the zoom length!!I am delighted with my choice and when canon do an SX2 IS I will be first in the shop!

  • @criticaltinker According to lots of reviews the SX1 IS had lots of noise,I have never found this a major problem. The noise when present is well controlled and film like in appearence, not like some cameras where you get horrid chroma noise(green red yell speckling etc). This camera is 100% best in its class, and the HD video and features is incredible.I was going to get a Nikon D300 and their 18-200 vr lens, total cost of this combo was £1900.00!! Im now delighted with my choice
