One Day on Earth

Guyana is located in South America and borders Suriname on the east, Brazil on the south and Venezuela on the west. The video was shot in the East Ruimveldt community which is located in Georgetown, the capital. The community is classified as depressed because of the high incidence of crime, poverty and drug abuse that remains prevalent in this community over decades.
The main reason for filming in this community was to unveil the creative nature of children who live in a depressed community as they make use of limited resources to enjoy life. The video shows children playing a game of cricket in the street. Their creativity is seen in the way they use an old barrel cover for cricket stumps and a piece of wood for a cricket bat.
