Making a fire without matches, lighter, knife. Using only rock's and wood to make a fire by friction. Back to stone age, why not ?

Spindle : Pinus resinosa
hearth board : populus tremuloides
Bow : Dead populus branch
Socket : Humid and half rotten piece of populus

  • Good bowing technique you have there.

    What cordage were you using on the bow? To make it truly "stone age" one would want to use natural cordage.....

    I'm working on it. Natural cordage is a big step, hard to come over it.

  • @CedrikG milkweed works pretty well, the stuff from dead stalks can be just twisted up as is and used as a pretty good cord. if you were to make a sturdy cord out of it it'd be quite good.
