@Hexed4Life I think we should add that a lot of birds follow this same pattern, colourful males, not so colourful females, the Mallard (duck) as a perfect example. However the Green Peafowl have less of a difference in flamboyancy of feathers between sexes than the commonly seen Indian Peafowl. However even in the green peahen the tail feathers remain shorter and with less iridenscence. But it does seem quite common among birds for the male to be flamboyant.
