Happened by this place, doors wide open (for 2 days now).

Just cellphone footage so is wobbly as but you might get an idea of what's inside. I only venture through 30% of the building, I didn't feel comfortable without backup. :)

Some people say that it's haunted but they're just being dicks. It's an amazing building in need of a protector and rescue.

We don't have too many heritage buildings left in Auckland and this one is golden, though a little abused. Seems structurally sound without the big cracks that other masonry buildings seem to suffer from. Not having weather tight windows is a bit of a worry.

Looks like a small fire was started inside in the past but leaving the doors open is asking for a big fire.

I'd happily donate several weekend working bee's to try sort this place out, secure/tidy, purely from a conservation perspective.

This building deserves better...

  • Hi there.

Can you reference where "43 children were burned alive"?

I've heard people bandy this about but it seems more like urban legend rather than fact but I could be "rong". :)

    Cheers... Clark

  • Hi Farrant.

Apologies, I don't look at the comments on here (YouTube) that often! :)

    Kind regards... Clark

  • I am studying to become a landscape architect and I was angry how the people who breakin and dumpEd all those rubbishs. They have no respect for this house of 43 children who burned alive. One day I will definite to buy this house, rebuilding it and live there and look after it for those little children.

  • This could be a nice house once its renovated :-) I'd be happy to help clean up some time in the near summer :) - Farrant
