Melina of Daughters of Rhea, 2nd generation belly dance artist and circus performer/producer, enjoys creatively combining her circus artistry with her belly dancing by balancing a sword atip a dagger gripped in her teeth while dancing! Under the guidance of legendary Jamila Salimpour, Melina's mother Rhea of Greece was the first dancer in the United States to take the sword balance into the context of a cabaret performance back in the late sixties/early seventies. Now, Melina takes the sword balance to new heights and is the only dancer in the world to balance a sword on a dagger while belly dancing.
