First video in the "I'm a Gay Student at Christian College" series. Today is October 11, 2009, exactly three years after the day I came out as an openly gay student at Azusa Pacific University. In this video I share a bit about the things I was able to come away with at from my experiences of being a student at APU.

Focusing on the message of "authentic living," I share the relationship between coming out as openly gay and being real and authentic as a Christian.

  • Excellent video. You are a man of courage, convictions, and moral principles!

I hope you really celebrate yourself on National Coming Out Day.

  • Thank you Gary =)

  • It's not only the pressures of religious and political opressions that silents many LGBT people. Sadly, it is also machismo that opresses LGBT people to silence, particularly in the Latino community.

  • I'm going to be posting more videos on that (Latin@s and machismo) in the near future =)

  • As you can go to logoonlinedotcom, you can find the movie called "Latino Beginnings." This documentary is about the struggles of being both Latino and LGBT.

  • I've heard of that documentary, but haven't had a chance to see it yet. Thank you for the info!!

  • Extraordinary message, Vincent! I applaud your courage and amazing sincerity. A dear friend of mine went to APU many years ago, and came out as a lesbian during that time. I know what challenges she faced, but I've watched her move past them into a life filled with joy, compassion, and astounding integrity. May God bless you as you continue to walk your talk and live your authentic life. L.O.V.E.

  • What a beautiful video!! You are such an inspiration to the Gay community and especially to people like me who have been in the closet much too long. Peace.

  • You are an inspiration, my friend!!! You give me reason to hope that someday homosexuality will be viewed as normal, just as man x woman is

  • I am also a gay latino going to school at a catholic university. I can sympathize with one's struggle to come out of the closet under such circumstances. There are definitely those who disagree with my lifestyle but I can only live my life the way I know best...and that is by being myself regardless of how others feel about me.

  • Thank you for posting this video.
