  • Something I've always thought, BMW missed a trick when they made the new Mini Cooper. They could have made an updated Riley Elf in the same series.

Now Tata have the Rover company and BMW are still whining about the use of the 'Rover' name (Not sure if they've been successful this time) why can't Tata follow up their new Jag and Land Rover with 21st Century Riley Elf and get onto the retro-car bandwagon?

As this video shows, a well appointed Riley Elf can still turn heads.

  • @TheTruemouse I thought the same when the new MINI was first introduced, but after the way that BMW has treated the Mini, I think I'd rather that the Riley Elf remain comfortably in obscurity.

  • hey. Very nice project and outcome of a car. BRAVO!!!

  • @shisci1 Thanks!

  • Grille has been painted to blend in better, look at the pics toward the end of the video. Oz number plate? What are you smoking? It's a 1968 vintage South Carolina plate. What's wrong with the dash? It's an Elf dash, the only thing changed is the newer gauges.

  • you could now get a bag of sand for an old smoker like this against a new car thanks to the governments scrappage scheme.Just imagine a nice shiny panda, or them kias are quite nippy.

  • @marshalllucky A bag of sand? What are you talking about? I'd like to see your Panda or Kia up against my "old smoker". What a joke.

  • @TheTruemouse ok thank you my friend , I agree there should be MORE noel edmonds on TV not less.My aunt she is very sick and he take her up in his `copter ;-)

  • @marshalllucky What brand of paint thinner have you been sniffing? Inquiring minds want to know.

  • @marshalllucky I think you will find he's being ironic - at least I hope he is! Nice to see new life bing breathed into these classics.

  • grill looks all wrong - as does the oz rear number plate. Would look better in England. (dash is also crap - should have kept original)
